1) Will the Eaton CHMIKCSR interlock kit work on my Eaton CH load center?
The CHMIKCSR fits Eaton CH load centers that use a CSR or CSH main breaker, in three-phase configuration, rated 225A. If your CH panel has a different main breaker type (or a main lug setup with no breaker to interlock), this kit is not the one. Match the main breaker designation stamped on the breaker before ordering.
2) What does a mechanical interlock kit on a load center actually do for a generator install?
A mechanical interlock physically blocks the main breaker and the generator backfeed breaker from being closed at the same time, so utility power and generator power can never be tied together. On the Eaton CHMIKCSR it is a sliding plate assembly for CH panels with a CSR/CSH main, and it is the low-cost alternative to a full automatic transfer switch when someone is willing to throw the breakers by hand.
3) Does the CHMIKCSR include the generator backfeed breaker?
No. The kit is the interlock hardware only, 1.75 lb and measuring 1.3 x 7.4 x 9 inches. You still have to supply the backfeed breaker sized to your generator inlet, the inlet box, and the feeder between them.
4) Will the CHMIKCSR fit a single-phase Eaton CH panel?
No. This kit is built for a three-phase CH load center at 225A with a CSR/CSH main. A single-phase residential CH panel takes a different interlock, so check the phase on your panel label first.

If your available fault current at the panel exceeds 10 kA, which happens on services close to a large utility transformer, the assembly is under-rated for that location and you need higher-AIC equipment.
