Emtek 14A5 Multi Point Lock Trim (Door Config #4) - Brass Plates, Modern Style (1.5" x 11"), Dummy Pair

Surface mount, so no door prep is required. It covers doors from 1-3/8 inch to 1-3/4 inch thick, which takes in most swinging patio and French door slabs. The plate footprint is 1-1/2 by 11 inches, so check that the stile has room for an 11 inch plate before ordering.

Configuration #4 puts the cylinder hole above the handle at a 3-5/8 inch center to center spacing between the handle and the cylinder bore. That spacing and cylinder placement is what has to line up with the holes already in your door. Measure from the center of your existing handle spindle to the center of the key cylinder above it; if it is 3-5/8 inches, config #4 is the one. The plate is bored for an American style cylinder.

Emtek references this multi point trim against Ashland, G-U, Caradco, JELD-WEN, JELD-WEN Custom Collection (formerly Pozzi), Marvin, PGT, Premium Collection (formerly Norco) and Weathershield doors. Matching the door brand is only half of it, though. The configuration and the 3-5/8 inch handle to cylinder spacing are what decide the fit, since one manufacturer builds doors in several configurations.

Handing is required, right hand or left hand. Stand on the outside of the door, the side you would key from: if the hinges are on your right it is right hand. Get this wrong and the lever throws the wrong way and the plate sits backwards on the stile.

Seven: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL) and Satin Brass (US4). Unlacquered brass is the one that will patina rather than hold its shine.

Order the same lever style, finish and configuration as the active leaf, and the plates read identically across the pair. The 14A5 gives you the Modern style plate at 1-1/2 by 11 inches in brass; keep the plate size, the 3-5/8 inch cylinder spacing configuration and the finish code consistent between the two leaves and the pair looks like one set of hardware rather than two.
