Trim only. The Emtek 1665 set gives you the plates and handles for both sides of the door, and the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. If you are replacing worn or dated hardware on a patio door that already has a working multi point lock in it, that's exactly what this is for. If the lock body itself has failed, the trim alone won't get you a functioning door.

Dummy means the handles don't operate anything. There's no cylinder and no keying on the 1665 pair, so both handles are fixed pulls. It's used on the inactive leaf of a French or swinging patio door pair, or wherever you want the look to match an operating door without any latching function. If you need the handle to actually throw the multi point lock, a dummy pair is the wrong choice.

Configuration #6 describes the layout of the plate: on the 1665 the center-to-center spacing is 3-5/8 inches and the cylinder position is below the handle. Emtek's multi point configurations exist because the hole pattern has to line up with the lock body already in the door. Measure the spacing between the existing handle spindle and the cylinder hole on your door. If it isn't 3-5/8 inches, a different configuration number is what you want.

That said, the deciding factor is the lock body prep, not the brand badge: the 1665 is built to a 3-5/8 inch center-to-center with the cylinder below the handle. Check those against the door in front of you before ordering.

Handing is required on this order, right hand or left hand. Stand outside the door, on the side it swings away from: if the hinges are on your right it's right hand. Get it wrong on a lever set and the lever points the wrong way. Lever style is also a required choice, and door thickness is an optional field where you can note your measured thickness.

Ten sandcast bronze levers pair with the 1665 rectangular plate: Aurora, Bryce, Cimarron, Cody, Durango, Lariat, Mariposa, Montrose, Teton and Yuma. It's residential hardware. Emtek lists the 1665 as residential, and it's swinging patio door trim in solid bronze meant for a home entry. For a multifamily common area or a light commercial opening that gets constant cycling, a graded commercial lockset is the direction to go rather than dummy patio trim.

No. The 1665 is a non keyed, non electronic dummy pair, so there's no cylinder in it and no wiring provision. The plate is configured for an American cylinder below the handle in the keyed versions of this configuration, but on the dummy pair the handles are fixed. For a keyed or motorized patio opening, order the keyed or electronic trim in the same Door Configuration #6 so the hole pattern still lines up with your lock body.

Three: Flat Black Bronze (FB), Medium Bronze (MB) and Tumbled White Bronze (TWB). These are sandcast bronze, so expect the surface variation and tone shift that casting produces, which is the point of the finish on a rustic or heavy timber opening. If you're matching other doors in the house, order from the same finish code rather than eyeballing it.
