Trim only. The 1L1M51 set gives you the plates, handles, and the euro cylinder, but the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. If your door already has a working multi point lock body in it and you are changing the look, this is the right part. If you are starting from a bare door, you need the lock body too.

The Melrose plate measures 2.9 x 17.5 inches, which is the large multi point format. The handle-to-cylinder center-to-center spacing is 3-5/8 inches, and that is the number that decides whether it lands on your existing prep. If your current trim has the same 3-5/8 inch CTC and a smaller plate, the Melrose will cover it. If the CTC is different, the holes will not line up no matter how big the plate is.

Below the handle. That is the whole point of the 1L1M51 designation, and it has to match your lock body, because the gearbox determines where the cylinder hub sits. Order the below-handle trim for a below-handle gearbox only. Get this backwards and the cylinder tailpiece will not engage anything.

Confirm two things on your existing gearbox before ordering: the 3-5/8 inch handle-to-cylinder center-to-center, and that the cylinder hub is on the lower side.
