Trim only. The 1L1M11 set gives you the plates, the handles, and the cylinder. The multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase, so if you are replacing a whole door lock you still need the lock body that matches your door manufacturer's prep. If you are only refreshing the look of an existing swinging patio door, the trim is what you want.

Below the handle. That is the whole point of the 1L1M11 designation, and it is not interchangeable with a plate that has the cylinder above the handle. Look at the door you are replacing: if the key hole sits above the lever, this is the wrong plate and you need the above-handle version of the Melrose trim.

The cylinder is an American-style cylinder and it comes in either the Schlage keyway or the Weiser WR5 keyway, so it can be cut to a key you already carry. Weiser WR5 is the keyway Kwikset-family keys ride in. You can order it keyed different or keyed alike across multiple doors, and there is a field for keying to a specific code if you have one from the existing hardware.

Yes, right hand or left hand is a required choice. Stand outside the door, on the key side: if the hinges are on your right it is right hand. Get it wrong on a multi point trim and the lever pitches the wrong way and the cylinder tailpiece will not line up.

The Melrose trim comes in nine finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Pewter (US15A), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Polished Brass Lifetime (US3), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and French Antique (US7). Every one of those is offered in both the Schlage and Weiser WR5 keyway, so finish and keyway are independent choices. The plates and substrate are brass, and note that Unlacquered Brass is a living finish that will patina over time rather than staying bright.

It is residential hardware for swinging patio doors, not a commercial opening. Property managers doing unit patio doors or a single family rental are in the right place. For a commercial storefront or an egress door on a code path, you want commercial grade mortise or exit hardware instead.

The 1L1M11 trim carries a spring assist that returns the lever to the neutral horizontal position, which is what stops the droop you see on older multi point levers. On a tall patio door lever that carries some weight, that spring is doing real work, and it is included rather than being an option you add.

There is a door thickness field on the order, and it is worth filling in. The cylinder tailpiece and the spindle have to cross the door and engage the multi point lock body, so an out of ordinary thickness is something to state up front rather than discover at install.
