Trim only. The 1L1R11 set includes the plates, handles, and the cylinder; the multi point mortise lock box is a separate purchase. If you're replacing worn or dated hardware on a swinging patio door where the multi point gearbox in the door is still good, that's exactly what this is for. If your gearbox has failed, you need to source that separately before this trim will do anything.

The cylinder is an American-format single cylinder, and you pick the keyway when you order: Schlage (the standard option) or Weiser WR5. Weiser WR5 is the keyway Kwikset-family keys run on, so between the two you can usually match a residential house key already in the owner's pocket. Keying is specified at order time as keyed different or keyed alike, and there's a field to key to a specific bitting code if you're matching an existing system.

Handing is required, right hand or left hand, and it is not field reversible on this trim. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it's right hand. Get this wrong on a multi point set and the lever and cylinder land upside down relative to the gearbox. You also have to pick a lever style at order time, and there's an optional door thickness field to note the thickness of your slab.

The plates measure 2.5 x 17.5 inches in a modern rectangular profile. That's the Large Multi Point size, so it covers a tall footprint on the door stile. If your existing trim is a shorter plate, this will hide the old screw holes; if you're coming off something taller or wider than 17.5 by 2.5, you'll see witness marks. Worth laying a tape on the existing plate before you commit to the finish.

Single cylinder. Key outside, thumbturn or lever action inside, no key required on the interior. For a swinging patio door with glass nearby, check your local residential code before assuming a single cylinder is what you want, but single cylinder is the standard and it's what this trim is built as. There is no double cylinder configuration on the 1L1R11.

The 1L1R11 trim carries Emtek's Spring Assist, which returns the lever to neutral and is there specifically to stop the drooping handle that plagues older multi point trim. On a heavy patio door that gets daily traffic, that's the part of the assembly that usually shows wear first, so it matters more here than on an interior passage set.

Solid brass plates and levers, offered in seven finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Polished Nickel Lifetime (US14), Satin Nickel (US15), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL) and Satin Brass (US4). Every one of those is available with either the Schlage or the Weiser WR5 keyway. Note that US3NL is unlacquered, so it will patina with handling rather than staying bright; if you want the brass look to stay put, US4 satin brass is the stable choice.

It's residential hardware, built for swinging patio doors in homes. If you're specifying for a multi-family common entry, a hotel corridor or any opening on a commercial spec with cycle or grade requirements attached, this isn't the set to put on the drawing. For a homeowner's or a condo unit's patio door on a G-U style multi point gearbox, it's the right category of part.

Yes. Keyed alike is a selection made at order time, so a run of patio doors can all take the same key, and you can also submit an existing bitting code to key the new trim into a system already in the building. Pick one keyway across the order, Schlage or Weiser WR5, and one finish, and the doors will match visually and operationally.

Any Emtek brass lever, and the list is long: the L-Square, T-Bar and R-Bar bars each in Faceted, Hammered, Knurled, Tribeca, Straight Knurled and White Marble; the cast levers including Athena, Helios, Hermes, Luzern, Poseidon, Stuttgart, Argos, Aston, Basel, Breslin, Dumont, Freestone, Geneva, Hercules, Mercury, Myles, Sion, Spencer and Triton; and the traditional shapes such as Cortina, Manning, Milano, Merrimack, Turino, Coventry, Elan, Ribbon and Reed, Rope, Rustic, Santa Fe, Wembley, Arts and Crafts and Hammered. Lever choice is a required selection on the order.

No electronic option on the 1L1R11. It's mechanical trim, key on the outside, operated through the lever and the multi point gearbox in the door. If you want code entry on a swinging patio door, you're looking at a different product line entirely, not an option on this set.
