Emtek 2246 Window Utility Pull, 6"

Screws are included. The 2246 ships as a complete set with its fasteners, so there is nothing else to order to hang it. Handy if you are doing a run of sash pulls across a building and don't want to source hardware separately.

The 2246 measures 6 inches by 1-1/4 inches. That 1-1/4 inch dimension is what decides whether it lands on a narrow sash rail or a slim cabinet stile, so measure your flat mounting area first. On anything narrower than 1-1/4 inches the pull will overhang the rail.

Eight finishes: Oil Rubbed Bronze (US10B), Satin Nickel (US15), Pewter (US15A), Flat Black (US19), Polished Chrome (US26), Polished Brass Lifetime (US3), Unlacquered Brass (US3NL), and French Antique (US7). Those are standard US finish codes, so if the levers and hinges on the job are specified as US15 or US10B, order the pull in the same code and it will read as a set.

Residential. Emtek lists the 2246 as a residential product, so for a high-traffic institutional or commercial opening you want hardware specified for commercial duty instead. For single-family, multi-family units, historic restoration, and hospitality guest rooms it is the right class of part.

Brass. Both the material and the substrate are brass, not a plated zinc or steel casting, which is why it holds up on a sash that gets pulled every day and why the unlacquered brass option will patina rather than flake.

A utility pull is a surface-mounted grip you screw to the face of a sash, panel, or door to pull it toward you. The 2246 is a 6 inch vertical-style pull, so it mounts on the face and gives you a full-hand grip rather than the recessed finger hook you get from a flush sash lift. Use the flush type where the sash has to pass a stop or a screen; use a surface pull like this where there is clearance in front of the sash.
