1) Will the Emtek 453111 Remington handleset fit a standard 1-3/4 inch exterior door?
Yes. The Remington grip by grip handleset covers doors from 1-3/8 inch up to 2 inch, and 1-3/4 inch is what it ships prepped for as standard. Anything thicker than 1-3/4 has to be called out on the order, and there is a Door Thickness field on the order form for exactly that.
2) Does the Emtek Remington handleset work with a 2-3/4 inch backset door prep?
It does, but you have to select it. The latch supplied as standard is a 2-3/8 inch backset; 2-3/4 inch is the other choice on the required Backset selection. Cross bore is 2-1/8 inch, which is the usual bored-door prep, so an existing 2-1/8 bore opening will take it.
3) Can the Emtek 453111 be keyed into my existing Weiser keyway so all my doors use one key?
Yes. The Remington handleset ships with a Schlage C cylinder as standard, and a Weiser (WR5) cylinder is offered as a no-upcharge substitution, specified by adding a W to the front of the product code. With the WR5 cylinder it can be keyed into an existing Weiser system. Keyed alike or keyed different is a required choice on the order, and there is a field for keying to a specific code if you are matching a master key system.
4) What is the center-to-center measurement on the Emtek Remington handleset, and will it cover my old handleset's holes?
Center-to-center on the Remington grip by grip set is 5-1/2 inches between the bore and the lower fixing. That is the figure to compare against the existing plate you are pulling off, along with the 2-1/8 inch cross bore, to see whether the new set lands on the same prep or whether the door needs reworking.
5) Is the Emtek Remington handleset solid bronze or plated?
