Emtek 6042 STRETTO Narrow Trim Lockset, 2" x 10-1/2" Tuscany Keyed, Brass Tubular, Dummy (Pair)

It is a dummy set, so there is no latch and no moving mechanism. The knob or lever is fixed and the plates are surface mounted for pull and push only. Use it on a closet door, a double door inactive leaf, or a door held closed by a ball catch or roller catch that you supply separately. If you need the door to latch, you want a passage set instead.

None for the dummy version. It surface mounts, so there is no bore and no cross bore to drill. The 6042 trim is sized for narrow 1-1/4 inch door preps with 3-3/8 inch center-to-center hole spacing, which is what the functional versions of the STRETTO narrow trim family use, so the plate lines up on doors already prepped that way.

The 6042 plate measures 2 x 10-1/2 inches, so the stile has to carry a 2 inch wide escutcheon with room to land the fasteners. That narrow width is the point of the STRETTO trim: it suits French doors and glass-panel doors where a standard rosette or a wide plate will not fit on the stile.

Handing is required on the order, right hand or left hand. It matters for the lever designs, since a lever has to point toward the hinge side. Knob versions are symmetrical but the handing selection is still part of the order.

Three choices are required. Finish, in Flat Black or Medium Bronze. Handing, right or left. And the knob or lever, from sixteen options: Medici, Napoli, Octagon and Padua levers, and Octagon, Parma, Petal, Diamond, Georgetown, Old Town, Bristol, Hampton, Lowell, Windsor, Ebony Porcelain and Ice White Porcelain knobs. Door thickness range is a fourth selection if your door is thicker than 1-3/4 inches.

The 6042 is sold as a dummy pair, so you get trim for both faces of the door. For a set of French doors where each leaf needs a pull on one face only, a single dummy is the usual choice instead.

It is a residential product. For an office, school or apartment common area where a graded lockset is specified, look at a Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial bored lock rather than this trim.

It is part of the Tuscany Bronze collection in bronze substrate, offered in Flat Black and Medium Bronze. If the rest of the openings are running Tuscany in one of those two finishes, the plates and the knob or lever designs match across the family, so you can carry the same look onto closet and inactive door leaves.
