Emtek 6043-FB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the Emtek 6043 dummy trim actually latch, or is it just a pull?
It is a dummy function, so there is no latching action from the handle in normal use. The 6043 is single sided dummy trim, used on inactive leaves of a pair, closet doors, or the fixed half of French doors where you only need something to pull on.
2) Which knobs and levers can I put on the Emtek STRETTO Tuscany narrow trim?
Sixteen choices. Levers: Medici, Napoli, Octagon, Padua. Knobs: Octagon, Parma, Petal, Diamond, Georgetown, Old Town, Bristol, Hampton, Lowell, Windsor, plus Ebony and Ice White porcelain. Any brass knob or lever in the line can be ordered with the 6043 plate.
3) Is the Emtek 6043 STRETTO Tuscany set rated for commercial use?
It is a residential product. For an apartment turn or a single family remodel it is the right class of hardware; for a school, hospital, or high traffic commercial opening, specify a Grade 1 or Grade 2 commercial bored lockset instead.
4) What comes in the box with the Emtek 6043 narrow trim dummy set?
It ships as a complete set with the latch and strike plate included. You still choose and order the inside knob or lever, handing, backset, and thickness range as part of the configuration.
5) Can the Emtek 6043 be keyed to match my other exterior doors?
No. The 6043 is non-keyed with a dummy function, so there is no cylinder to key. If you need a keyed opening in the same Tuscany look, you need a keyed entry or handleset from the line rather than this trim.
6) What finishes does the Emtek STRETTO Tuscany 6043 come in, and will it match my other Tuscany Bronze hardware?
Two finishes: Flat Black (FB) and Medium Bronze (MB). Both are from the Tuscany Bronze collection, so they key to the rest of the Tuscany line for a building where you are matching hinges, pulls, and other trim.
7) Is the Emtek 6043 solid brass or bronze?
The lockset is brass tubular construction with bronze substrate finishing in the Tuscany Bronze collection. It is a tubular lock type, not mortise.
