It uses a narrow 1-1/4 inch bore hole instead of the usual 2-1/8 inch cross bore, with 3-3/8 inch center-to-center hole spacing between the bore and the latch prep. The trim itself is 1-1/2 x 11-1/8 inches, so it suits a narrow stile where a full-size rosette or a standard entry set has nowhere to land. If your door is already bored 2-1/8 inch for a conventional knobset, this is not a drop-in; the 1-1/4 inch prep is smaller and the hole would be oversized.
2) What door thickness does the Emtek 6444 entry lockset cover, and do I have to order a different one for a thick door?
The 6444 covers 1-1/4 inch all the way to 3 inch doors, but the thickness is an order choice, not something you adjust in the field.
