That's exactly what it's built for. The 4444 STRETTO uses a narrow 1-1/4 inch bore hole with 3-3/8 inch center-to-center hole spacing, so it goes on doors too narrow for a standard 2-1/8 inch cross bore. The trim plate itself is 1-1/2 x 11 inches. If your door already has a standard 2-1/8 inch bore, this will not cover or fit it without new door prep.
2) Do I have to specify handing on the Emtek 4444 STRETTO lockset?
Handing is required, right hand or left hand. It matters most on lever trim, since a lever has to point the correct direction, but the order asks for it either way. Stand outside the door: if the hinges are on your right, it's right hand.
3) What backset does the Emtek 4444 come with, and can I use it on a 2-3/4 inch backset door?
Both backsets are covered. Standard is 2-3/8 inch, and 2-3/4 inch is selectable at order time, so it drops onto either of the two common residential bore positions. The latch supplied is a 28 degree latch.
4) Is the Emtek 4444 a double cylinder lock, or does it have a thumbturn inside?
It's a single cylinder entry set: key on the outside, thumbturn or inside operation without a key. If your local code or insurance calls for keyed access from both sides on a glass-adjacent door, this is not the configuration to order.
5) Can I key several Emtek 4444 locksets to one key for a building or a house?
Yes. Keying is selectable as keyed different or keyed alike, and there's an optional key code field if you need the set cut to an existing code you already carry.

It's a residential-duty tubular entry lock. For an apartment unit door, a house, or a hospitality guest room it's in its element; for a high-traffic commercial opening that needs a graded cylindrical or mortise lock, specify a commercial lockset instead.
