Greenlee 50125982 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can Greenlee poly line be used with a power fishing or vacuum system?
Yes. The pail has a pre-punched hole in the lid with a resealable cap, so the line feeds straight out of the container into a power fishing system without repackaging or re-spooling.
2) What lengths does the Greenlee green tracer poly line come in?
Two: a 500 ft pail (MPN 50125982) and a 6500 ft pail (MPN 50214810, 1981 m). Pick the 500 ft for branch circuits and short conduit runs; the 6500 ft pail is the one for feeder and underground work where you do not want to splice mid-run.
3) Will this poly line hold up in a wet or underground duct?
The line is rot and mildew resistant, and the plastic dispenser pail keeps it dry in storage on the truck. That combination is why it suits damp conduit and duct work rather than a paper-boxed twine.
4) Why is the tracer line green, and does the color matter on the job?
The line is green, which is purely a visual identifier. Crews use it to tell one leader from another when several lines are blown or fished into the same duct bank, so you know which tail belongs to which conduit at the far end.
5) Does the line tangle when you pull it out of the pail?
It is wound to resist tangling as it dispenses, and the pail has a handle so one hand carries it while the other feeds line. That matters when you are blowing or fishing a long run alone and cannot stop to clear a snarl.
