Klein Tools 56108 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What lengths does the Klein Tools poly pull line come in?
Two spool sizes: a 500 foot version (part 56108) and a 6,500 foot version (part 56110). The 500 foot size suits a van stock or a single job; the 6,500 foot bucket is the shop or high volume option that keeps a crew running across multiple pulls without reordering.
2) Can I use this poly pull line with a power fishing system, or is it hand pull only?
It works with both. The polypropylene line is rated for use with manual or power fishing systems on light duty cable or rope pulling. For heavy pulls, step up to a steel fish tape or a rated pull rope, since this is specified for light duty work.
3) Will this pull line hold up if it sits in a damp crawlspace or outdoors?
The line is polypropylene and rot and mildew resistant, so damp conduit runs, crawlspaces and wet basements won't degrade it. The shipping container it comes in also shields the line from direct sunlight, which matters if the bucket lives on an open truck bed.
4) Does the poly pull line come on a reel or do I need a separate dispenser?
No separate dispenser needed. It ships in a ready to use storage container that dispenses the line tangle free and knotless, so you pull straight from the bucket at the opening and cut what you need.
5) Why does the Klein pull line have an orange tracer in it?
The line is orange/white, with an orange tracer running through the white poly. That contrast makes the line easy to spot against dust, insulation, or a dark ceiling cavity when you are trying to find the end you just blew or fished through a run.
6) Any safety issue with the big bucket of pull line on a jobsite?
Two cautions come with it. Work from a stable position so you don't lose your balance while pulling, and keep children away from the bucket, since a child can fall into a bucket and drown in even a small amount of liquid. That second one matters on residential and occupied multi-family jobs where the bucket gets left in a unit.
