1) Does the Halo LT56 recessed LED trim work on my existing dimmer, and how low does it dim?
It dims to 10 percent on 120V using phase cut LE/TE dimmers. That means a standard forward or reverse phase wall dimmer, but it has to be a dimmer rated for LED loads; an old incandescent-only dimmer is the usual cause of flicker or drop-out at the bottom of the range. If you need dimming below 10 percent, this is not the trim for that.
2) Can the Halo LT56 trim go in a covered porch, soffit, or bathroom over a shower?
The LT56 is rated for indoor and outdoor installation, so covered exterior locations like porch ceilings and soffits are within its rating. The limiting part is usually the housing, not the trim: the can it goes into has to be the wet or damp location type for that spot, and for a shower position the housing must be listed for that use. Trim rating does not upgrade a dry-location can.
3) Can I use the Halo LT56 on a 277V commercial circuit?
Voltage rating on the LT56 is 120-277V, so it will operate on 277V branch circuits common in commercial and institutional buildings. One thing to plan for: the dimming is specified at 120V with phase cut LE/TE dimmers. If the space is on 277V and needs to dim, work that out with your controls before you commit the fixture count.
4) Is 5000K too cold for a residential remodel, or is the Halo LT56 available in a warmer color?
