Yes, that is exactly what the -75 designation means. In the Folger Adam 700 Series, the base body handles 1/2 inch throw latchbolts and the -75 version is built for 3/4 inch throw latchbolts. If the lock on your door throws a standard 1/2 inch latch, you want the non-75 body instead, since the deeper keeper pocket is sized for the longer bolt.
2) What kind of lock does the Folger Adam 710-75 electric strike release?
It releases latchbolts from cylindrical and mortise locks. It is a latchbolt strike, so a deadbolt thrown into the frame will not be released by it. If the opening uses a mortise lock with a deadbolt, the deadbolt has to be retracted by the lock itself.
3) Can I use the Folger Adam 710-75 on a fire-rated door opening?
Only in the fail secure configuration. The 3 hour UL 10C fire rating on the 700 Series, for both single and double doors, applies to fail secure only. The strike is field selectable between fail safe and fail secure, so if you order it and set it fail safe for free egress on power loss, you give up the fire label. Fire openings need positive latching, which is why the rating is fail secure only.
4) Do I have to order the Folger Adam 710-75 as fail safe or fail secure, or can I change it in the field?
Both are offered and the mode is field selectable, so an installer can set it at the door. Fail secure keeps the door locked when power drops and is the mode carrying the fire rating; fail safe unlocks on power loss and is used on egress paths that are controlled by the fire alarm instead.
