1) Will the HES 712-75 electric strike work with a 3/4 inch throw latchbolt?
That's exactly what the 712-75 is built around. It ships with a 3/4 inch PK keeper and takes 1/2 inch, 5/8 inch or 3/4 inch throw latchbolts in hollow metal frames. If your lock only throws 1/2 to 5/8 inch, the plain 712 with the 1/2 inch keeper is the closer match. One catch on the deep keeper: if you order the LBMLCM latchbolt and locking cam monitor, latchbolt detection depends on the door gap staying at or under 1/8 inch.
2) Can I use the HES 712-75 strike in a wood frame?
No. The 712-75 is a hollow metal frame strike. For wood frames in the same 700 Series you want the 732-75, which has an offset solenoid and the same 3/4 inch PK keeper, or the 732 for 1/2 to 5/8 inch throws.
3) Does an HES 712-75 electric strike work with a Sargent 8200 or BEST 40 Series mortise lock?
Yes for both, with a caveat. The 712-75 is listed compatible with SARGENT 78/8200 Series and BEST 40 Series mortise locks running a 3/4 inch latchbolt. Any mortise lock application requires relocating the center line of the strike prep, so plan the frame cut accordingly. For other manufacturers' mortise locks, and for the BEST 40 Series specifically, HES asks that you consult their support before committing.
