1) Does the HES 732-75 strike accept a 3/4 inch latchbolt from a mortise lock?
Yes, and that is the point of the -75 suffix: 3/4 inch keeper depth versus the 1/2 inch keeper on the plain 732. HES states the 712-75, 732-75 and 742-75 are compatible with Sargent 78/8200 Series or Best 40 Series mortise locks with a 3/4 inch latchbolt. Using it with a mortise lock requires relocating the strike center line, so plan the prep accordingly.
2) Is the HES 700 Series electric strike fire rated for a 3 hour opening?
UL 10C fire rated, 3 hour, on both single and double doors, but fail secure only. The strike is also CAN4-S104 (ULC-S104) and NFPA-252 conformant, UL 1034 burglary resistant listed, UL 294 listed, ANSI/BHMA A156.31 Grade 1, and New York City accepted. 3) Should I order the fail safe or fail secure version of the HES 732-75?
