Houzer 629818 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sinks does the 629818 bottom grid actually fit?
The Houzer 629818 Wirecraft grid is cut for two sinks only: the Quartztone granite models V-300 and V-300U. It is not a universal grid, so if the sink in the cabinet is a different Houzer model or another brand, this one will sit wrong in the basin and the drain cutout will not line up.
2) I am replacing a damaged grid in a V-300 sink. Is the 629818 the correct replacement part?
It is. Houzer part number 629818 is the Wirecraft bottom grid made specifically for the Quartztone V-300 and V-300U, so it is a direct swap for a worn or bent original. Order it by that number; the finish supplied is satin stainless steel.
3) Will a bottom grid stop a granite composite sink from getting scratched and scuffed?
That is what it is for. The 629818 keeps pots, cast iron and cutlery off the floor of the basin, cushions glassware and china, and cuts the noise and movement of dishes against the sink. On a granite composite basin like the Quartztone V-300, the grid takes the abuse instead of the sink surface.
4) Does the Houzer 629818 grid slide around in the sink, or is it held in place?
It rides on protective plastic feet that hold it in position and keep the wire off the basin floor, which is what reduces the rattle and movement when you are washing. The 1 inch overall height includes those feet, so the grid sits just clear of the bottom and water still runs under it to the drain.
5) Is a stainless grid safe to leave in the sink with food and cleaners?
Yes. The 629818 is a stainless steel grid, so standing water, food acids and normal kitchen cleaners will not attack it the way they would a coated or plated wire product. For multi-family or hospitality turnovers, it is a part you can leave in place between tenants.
