Houzer BG-1308 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Houzer BG-1308 sink grid fit any kitchen sink, or only one model?
Only one. The BG-1308 bottom grid is cut to match Houzer's curved trough sink CTC-3312 and is not a universal grid. If your bowl is any other Houzer model or another brand, the footprint will not sit correctly on the bottom and you want the grid made for that specific bowl.
2) What are the outside dimensions of the BG-1308 bottom grid?
External dimensions are 14-1/4 x 8-1/2 x 1 inches. That 1 inch height is what lifts dishes off the bowl floor, so check your drain location and any disposal flange clearance before dropping it in.
3) Does a Houzer bottom sink grid actually stop the sink floor from getting scratched?
That is its job. The BG-1308 is a stainless wire rack that keeps pots, dishes and glassware off the stainless bowl surface, so cookware and cutlery contact the grid instead of the sink. Plastic feet hold it in place and cut down the clatter and movement while you wash.
4) For a rental or multi-family kitchen, is a sink grid worth adding to the CTC-3312 bowls?
It is a cheap way to keep tenant-occupied stainless bowls from showing wear. Stainless construction holds up to water, food and household cleaners, and the grid takes the abuse instead of the sink floor. One caution for a fleet order: the BG-1308 only matches the CTC-3312 trough sink, so grids are not interchangeable across different Houzer bowls in the same building.
5) Is the BG-1308 grid finished to match a satin stainless sink?
It ships in satin stainless steel, the same look as a brushed stainless bowl, so it blends in rather than standing out against the sink interior.
