Houzer BG-1800 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Houzer BG-1800 bottom grid fit my Houzer sink?
Only if your sink is a Houzer CF-1830 or SCF-1830. The BG-1800 is cut to those two bowls specifically, so it is not a general-purpose grid. If you have a different Houzer model, or another brand's bowl, look for the grid matched to that model number instead of buying this one on size alone.
2) Does a bottom sink grid actually protect a stainless sink, or is it just a rack?
It does both jobs. The BG-1800 sits on the bowl floor so pots and flatware land on the grid instead of the sink surface, which keeps scratching down, and the plastic feet hold it in place so it damps the noise and rattle while you wash. For a rental kitchen or a unit turn, that is the cheapest way to keep a stainless bowl looking new.
3) What is the Houzer BG-1800 grid made of and will it rust or stain?
Stainless steel, with plastic feet at the contact points. It is built for constant wet use in a kitchen bowl and stands up to water, food and household cleaning chemicals. Keep it rinsed and dried like the sink itself and it will not discolor from ordinary use.
4) Does the BG-1800 need any installation or hardware?
No install work at all. The grid drops into the bowl and rests on its own feet, so there is nothing to fasten, no drain modification, and no tools. Lift it out for cleaning and put it back.
5) What finish does the Houzer BG-1800 come in?
Satin stainless steel is the only finish, which matches the brushed look of a standard stainless kitchen bowl rather than standing out against it.
