Houzer BG-2600 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-2600 bottom grid fit?
The BG-2600 Wirecraft bottom grid is cut to fit the Houzer BCS-2522 sink bowl and nothing else. It is a sink-specific grid, not a universal one, so if your bowl is a different Houzer model or another brand, measure your bowl and match a grid to that model instead of assuming this one drops in.
2) Will a bottom sink grid keep a stainless sink from getting scratched?
That is the point of it. The BG-2600 holds pots, pans and dishes up off the basin floor so the sink surface does not take the scratching and scuffing, and it cushions glassware and china set down hard. It also quiets the bowl during washing.
3) Does the BG-2600 grid slide around in the sink?
No. The grid sits on protective plastic feet that hold it in place and keep it from shifting or rattling while you wash. The feet also keep the wire off the basin floor so water drains underneath.
4) I manage rental kitchens, can I standardize on one bottom grid across all my sinks?
Only where the bowls are the same model. The BG-2600 is dimensioned specifically for the Houzer BCS-2522 at 22-1/4 x 16-1/2 inches, so it standardizes cleanly across units built with that sink and will not carry over to other bowl sizes. Sort your unit list by sink model first, then order one grid per matching bowl.
5) What is the Houzer BG-2600 grid made of and what finish is it?
Stainless steel wire construction in a satin stainless finish, so it matches a brushed stainless bowl rather than standing out against it.
6) Does this Houzer grid include a drain or strainer?
No. The BG-2600 is the bottom grid on its own, a sink accessory that sits in the basin. Drain assemblies, baskets and strainers are ordered separately.
7) Is the BG-2600 a kitchen sink grid or can it go in a bar or bath sink?
It is specified for kitchen sink use, matched to the BCS-2522 kitchen bowl. A bar or prep bowl is smaller, so a 22-1/4 by 16-1/2 inch grid will not sit in one.
