Houzer BG-7118 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-7118 bottom grid fit?
The BG-7118 Wirecraft grid is cut to one sink only: Houzer model PTS-4118. It is not a universal grid, so if your bowl is a different Houzer model or another brand, this one will either rock on the bowl radius or sit too tight. Match the sink model number stamped or listed on your sink before ordering.
2) Will a bottom grid keep a stainless sink from scratching in a rental kitchen?
That is what it is for. The Wirecraft grid sits on the sink floor so pots and cast iron land on wire instead of the bowl, and it cushions glassware. For property managers turning units, it is a cheap way to keep the sink bottom from looking beaten up, and it lifts out for cleaning. It only works on Houzer PTS-4118 bowls, so it is a fit for buildings standardized on that sink.
3) Does the Houzer BG-7118 grid need any hardware or installation?
No install work at all. It drops into the bowl and rests on protective plastic feet that hold it in place and cut down movement and noise when you are washing dishes. No fasteners, no drilling, nothing to add to the order.
4) Can I use the BG-7118 grid in a bar or prep sink instead?
Only if that sink is a Houzer PTS-4118. At 27-1/2 by 15-1/2 inches the grid is sized for a full kitchen bowl, so it will not drop into a typical bar or prep sink. For a smaller bowl you need the bottom grid matched to that specific sink model.
