Houzer BG-7200 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Houzer BG-7200 bottom grid fit my sink if it isn't a Houzer PTG-4300?
No. The BG-7200 Wirecraft grid is cut to fit the Houzer PTG-4300 sink bowl only. It is not a universal grid, and in any other bowl the feet won't sit where they should and the frame will either bind on the radius or slide around. If you have a different Houzer model, order the grid matched to that model number instead.
2) What is a bottom sink grid actually for in a rental or hotel kitchen?
It lifts dishes and pans off the sink floor so the stainless surface doesn't get scratched or dented by heavy cookware, and it dampens the drumming sound when water and dishes hit the bowl. On the BG-7200, plastic feet hold it in place so it doesn't shift while someone is washing. In a high-turnover kitchen it's a cheap way to keep the sink looking new through tenant changes.
3) Does the BG-7200 grid rest on the sink bottom or hang from the rim?
It sits on the sink floor on its own plastic feet. There's no hanging hardware, no clips, and nothing to install, so it drops in and comes out for cleaning. The feet also keep the wire off the steel, which is what stops the grid itself from marking the bowl.
4) What grade of stainless is the Houzer BG-7200 grid made from?
T201 stainless steel, per the spec data. T201 is a chrome-manganese austenitic grade commonly used for sink grids and accessories. Finish is satin stainless, which matches the brushed look of a stainless bowl rather than sitting bright against it.
