Houzer BG-7800 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sink does the BG-7800 bottom grid fit?
The BG-7800 Wirecraft bottom grid is cut to fit the Houzer PTG-3600 sink and nothing else. It is a custom-shaped grid, not a universal one, so if your bowl is a different Houzer model or another brand, this grid will not sit correctly. Match the sink model stamped or listed on your sink before ordering.
2) Will a bottom grid keep a stainless sink from scratching?
That is what this one is for. The BG-7800 sits on the sink floor so pots and cutlery land on the wire grid instead of the basin surface, and it cushions glass and china that would otherwise hit bare steel. It also cuts the drumming noise you get when water and dishes hit an undermount bowl directly.
3) What is the Houzer BG-7800 grid made of and will it rust in daily kitchen use?
Stainless steel, with plastic feet at the contact points. It is built for a wet kitchen sink environment and resists water, food, and household cleaning chemicals. For a property manager standardizing across units, the plastic feet are the wear item to watch, not the wire.
4) Is the Houzer BG-7800 for a kitchen sink or can it go in a bar or utility sink?
It is a kitchen sink accessory, matched to the PTG-3600 bowl. At 33-1/4 by 17 inches it is a full large-bowl footprint, far too big for a typical bar or prep sink. For a smaller bowl you want a grid sized to that specific model.
