Houzer BSD-3209 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the Belleo BSD-3209 drop into a laminate countertop, or does it need stone?
It is a topmount (drop-in) sink and the rolled SpecEdge Plus rim is made to grip any countertop, laminate included. That is the practical advantage over an undermount, which needs a stone or solid surface top to carry the sink weight and seal the exposed edge. The BSD-3209 sits on top of the cutout, so laminate, solid surface, or stone all work.
2) Will a standard kitchen garbage disposal and basket strainer fit the BSD-3209 drain openings?
Yes. Both bowls use a 3-1/2 inch center drain opening, which is the standard US kitchen sink size, so a standard 3-1/2 inch disposal flange or a basket strainer mounts in either one. Center drain placement also means your tailpiece drops straight down rather than offset toward the back wall.
3) Does the Houzer BSD-3209 come with strainers and grids, or do I order those separately?
Both are in the box: two 190-9180 basket strainers and two BG-3100 bottom grids, plus mounting hardware for the drop-in installation. A CB-3100 cutting board is the one accessory sold separately. You'll still need to supply the faucet, supply lines, and the drain tailpiece or disposal.
4) Is a drop-in double bowl like the BSD-3209 the right choice if I want the look of an undermount?
It is the compromise option. The Belleo series uses a rolled, beveled SpecEdge Plus rim that reads much closer to an undermount than a standard wide-flange drop-in, while still installing from above the counter. If you genuinely want no rim at all over the counter surface, you need a true undermount and a stone or solid surface top. If you are replacing an existing drop-in or working over laminate, this gets you most of the look without recutting or rebuilding the top.
5) Does the BSD-3209 have a faucet ledge with pre-drilled holes?
The Belleo BSD-3209 uses the SpecEdge Plus rolled rim rather than a wide drilled deck, so plan on mounting the faucet through the countertop behind the sink. Confirm hole spacing for your faucet when you template the counter cutout; the included paperwork covers the topmount cutout layout.
6) What finish does the Houzer Belleo BSD-3209 come in?
One finish only: satin stainless. There is no polished or black stainless version of this model, so if you are standardizing a building on satin stainless appliances and fixtures it matches; if the spec calls for anything else, this is the wrong model.
