Houzer CHASS-682-BN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Charlotte CHASS-682 handle hit the backsplash when I turn it on?
No. The handle on the Charlotte glides forward for water control and its rearward travel is limited to 15 degrees specifically so it does not strike the backsplash. That is what makes it workable on a sink set tight against a wall, which is where most single handle faucets with a rear-lever action give trouble.
2) Does the Houzer Charlotte faucet need a third hole in the sink for the side spray?
Yes. The CHASS-682 is a single handle faucet supplied with a solid brass side spray, so the spray needs its own deck hole in addition to the faucet body. If your sink or countertop is drilled single-hole only, this is not the right configuration for it.
3) Is the Houzer CHASS-682 ADA compliant for a commercial or multi-family kitchen?
ADA compliant, yes, and it carries ICC certification, which Houzer states meets or exceeds US state and federal plumbing codes and low lead safety standards. That covers the usual specification hurdles for apartment, hospitality, and institutional kitchen work.
4) How far does the side spray hose on the Houzer Charlotte reach?
The XtendHose on the Charlotte pulls out more than 20 inches, enough to reach all edges of the bowl and past the sink rim for filling a pot on the counter. The spray head itself is solid brass, not plastic.
5) What finishes does the Houzer Charlotte CHASS-682 come in, and can I match it across a building?
Six finishes: Polished Chrome (CHASS-682-PC), Brushed Nickel (-BN), Polished Nickel (-PN), Brushed Brass (-BB), Antique Copper (-AC), and Oil Rubbed Bronze (-OB). Order by that suffix and every unit comes in the same finish, which is how property managers keep a fleet of kitchens consistent.
6) Is the Houzer Charlotte faucet solid brass all the way through or just brass plated?
Solid brass. Houzer builds the Charlotte from raw molten brass start to finish at its ISO-certified factory in Israel, and the side spray body is brass as well. That matters for rental and commercial turnover, where zinc and plastic bodies are what crack first.
7) What kind of cartridge is in the Houzer CHASS-682, and is it a rebuildable valve?
It uses Houzer's CeraDox ceramic disc cartridge. Ceramic disc is the drip-resistant type rather than a rubber washer or compression stem, so the usual annual washer replacement on older kitchen faucets does not apply here.
8) Is the Houzer Charlotte a traditional or modern looking faucet?
Traditional. The Charlotte has an ornate, classic water control handle and an arched neck, so it suits shaker and period kitchens rather than a flat, squared-off contemporary look. Finish choices like Antique Copper and Oil Rubbed Bronze lean the same way.
9) Is there a spec sheet or installation instructions for the Houzer CHASS-682?
Both are published for the CHASS-682: a dimensional spec sheet and a separate installation instruction document, which is what you want in hand before drilling a countertop or confirming deck hole spacing on a submittal.
10) Does the Houzer Charlotte kitchen faucet carry a Prop 65 notice?
Yes, the CHASS-682 carries a California Proposition 65 notice. Separately, Houzer states the faucet meets low lead safety standards under its ICC certification.
