Houzer RB-2400 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Which Houzer sinks does the RB-2400 rinsing basket fit?
The RB-2400 is sized for specific Houzer sink models: MG-3209, MS-2409, and STS-1400. It nests down into the bowl rather than sitting on the rim, so bowl dimensions decide the fit. Check the individual sink model before ordering, because a basket cut for one bowl footprint will not seat correctly in another.
2) Is the Houzer rinsing basket stainless steel, and will it rust in a commercial kitchen?
It is made from T201 stainless steel. T201 is a chromium-manganese austenitic grade, so it resists corrosion in normal sink use but is less corrosion resistant than 304 series stainless. Rinse and dry it after contact with salt, bleach, or acidic cleaners, which is standard practice for any stainless sink accessory.
3) What is the difference between a rinsing basket and a sink bottom grid?
A bottom grid sits flat on the sink floor to protect the finish from pots and to keep items up out of standing water. The RB-2400 is a 6 inch deep basket, so it holds dishes and glasses upright for rinsing and draining inside the bowl. If your goal is protecting the bowl surface, you want a flat bottom grid; if it is staging and draining dishware, the basket is the right part.
4) Can I use the Houzer RB-2400 basket in a bathroom or utility sink?
It is specified for kitchen installation and sized to Houzer kitchen sink bowls MG-3209, MS-2409, and STS-1400. A bathroom lavatory bowl will not take a 19 by 16-1/4 inch basket, and a utility sink would need its interior bowl dimensions checked against that footprint.
5) What finish does the Houzer RB-2400 come in?
One finish only: satin stainless steel. That matches the brushed satin finish used on Houzer stainless sinks, so it will not read as a mismatch sitting in the bowl. There is no mirror-polished or coated option for this basket.
6) For a multi-family or hospitality rollout, where is the Houzer RB-2400 made and how do I order it?
The RB-2400 is manufactured in China and sold under the single part number RB-2400 in satin stainless steel, so there is no option matrix to specify on a bulk order. Quantity is driven by how many of the matching Houzer sinks (MG-3209, MS-2409, STS-1400) you have in the building.
