1) Will an Ives 8400 kick plate work on a fire-rated door?
Yes. The Ives 8400 protection plates are certified to UL10C for fire-rated door applications, and they meet ANSI/BHMA A156.6 for J301. Those are the two things an inspector looks for on a labeled opening, so the plate can go on a fire door assembly without voiding the label. 2) Is a kick plate, mop plate or armor plate the right thing for the bottom of my door?
They are the same plate at different heights, and height is the whole decision.
