Dormakaba 742412-000-01 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Dormakaba 742412-000-01 combination chamber used with?
The 742412-000-01 combination chamber is a replacement part for Simplex 2015 Series exit device trim. It is the mechanism that holds the pushbutton combination, so it is what you order when the code mechanism in a 2015 trim fails rather than replacing the whole trim.
2) Is the Kaba Access 742412-000-01 combination chamber a complete lock or just an internal part?
It is an internal replacement component, not a complete lock. The 742412-000-01 chamber goes inside Simplex 2015 Series exit device trim; you still need the trim housing, pushbuttons and the exit device itself for a working opening.
3) Do I order anything else with the 742412-000-01 combination chamber for a repair?
Only one model is offered, 742412-000-01, with no finish or handing options to specify, so the order itself is simple. What decides the job is the trim: confirm the Simplex trim on the door is 2015 Series before you order, since the chamber is matched to that trim and nothing else.
4) Is this Simplex combination chamber rated for commercial openings?
Yes, the 742412-000-01 is a commercial door hardware part, in line with the 2015 Series exit device trim it serves. It is used on mechanical pushbutton locking, so there is no wiring, no power and no battery involved in the code mechanism.
