Kaba Access 74832-000-01 Simplex Combination Chamber

The 74832-000-01 combination chamber ships as a service kit, not a bare chamber. In the box: two #83 1/4 spacers, one #86 screw pack, one thread ring, one standard T strike plate, one combination change plug assembly, one strike box, and one installation wrench. That covers the strike side and the change-plug side of a rebuild, so a locksmith swapping a worn chamber is not chasing a separate screw pack or wrench to finish the job.

The combination chamber is the mechanical assembly that holds the code, and this kit includes the combination change plug assembly, which is the piece used to change the code. If the lock will not accept a new combination or the buttons no longer register the code, the chamber is the part to replace rather than the whole lock body.

M-56 and M-63 are the Dormakaba chamber designations this part covers, so a single 74832-000-01 answers a service call where either chamber number comes up on a 5000 Series lock. If the parts breakdown you are working from calls out M-56 or M-63, this is that chamber.

No separate strike order needed. A standard T strike plate and a strike box come in the 74832-000-01 kit, along with the thread ring and the #86 screw pack. If the opening uses a strike other than the standard T, that one is not in the kit and stays on the frame.

Commercial. The 74832-000-01 is a service part for Simplex 5000 Series mechanical pushbutton locks, which is the line used on stockrooms, mechanical rooms, and multi-family common doors. A property manager standardizing 5000 Series across a building can stock this chamber as the repair item instead of replacing locks one at a time.

It is a Dormakaba replacement part, ordered under part number 74832-000-01 for the Simplex 5000 Series. Kaba Access and Dormakaba are the same line, so a parts list calling out either brand name points at this same chamber.
