Kawneer KW911618-40 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What door system does the Kawneer KW911618-40 pull package fit?
The KW911618-40 extruded pull package is built for the Kawneer 990 Sliding Door system only. It is a genuine Kawneer service part made to OEM specifications for that system, so it lands in the existing prep and works with the 990's slide operator mechanism. If your storefront slider is a different Kawneer series or another manufacturer's system, this package is not the right part.
2) How many pulls come in the Kawneer KW911618-40 package?
Four pulls total: 2 interior and 2 exterior, all in Dark Bronze. That covers both faces of the door assembly in one kit, so a property manager replacing worn pulls on a 990 slider doesn't have to order interior and exterior hardware separately.
3) Does the KW911618-40 include the slide operator, or do I order that separately?
The slide operator is included in the package. That is the point of this kit: pulls plus the operator component together, so the 990 Sliding Door's operating hardware can be replaced in one go rather than sourcing the operator on a second line item.
4) What finish is the Kawneer 990 sliding door pull package, and can I get another color?
Dark Bronze, on all four pulls, and that is the only finish this part number covers. The -40 suffix in KW911618-40 identifies that finish, so if the rest of your storefront is clear anodized or painted white you'll be matching to Dark Bronze here.
5) Is this Kawneer pull package rated for commercial traffic or is it a residential part?
Commercial. The KW911618-40 is intended for commercial use and extruded construction on the pulls, which is why it turns up on office building entrances, retail storefronts, healthcare and school main entries, and hotel lobbies. It is not a residential patio door part.
6) Is the KW911618-40 a lock or just the pull hardware?
It is pull hardware with the slide operator, not a locking device. You get four extruded pulls and the operator component for the 990 Sliding Door. Any latching or keyed cylinder on the opening stays a separate part.
