Keedex K-22-5+ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Keedex K-22 lever opening tool used for?
The K-22 is a locksmith's lever opening tool, a hand tool rather than a lock component. Keedex sells it on a restricted basis: it is to be sold only to locksmiths and law enforcement agencies, and Keedex states it is not to be used unlawfully and accepts no responsibility for misuse. If you are not a licensed locksmith or an agency buyer, it is not a part you can order.
2) Is the Keedex K-22-5+ a different tool from the standard K-22, or just a different way of ordering it?
Same tool. K-22-5+ is the stock number Keedex uses when you are ordering five or more lever opening tools, so a shop stocking several vans orders under that number rather than a separate model. The tool itself is the K-22.
3) Is the Keedex K-22 lever tool built for commercial work or residential?
Keedex classes the K-22 lever opening tool as commercial door hardware, which is consistent with how it is sold: to locksmiths and law enforcement rather than over the counter to a homeowner.
