Plan for 4-3/4 inches wide by 4-1/8 inches high by 2 inches deep. The 2 inch depth is the constraint most people hit: the gate stile or tube has to accept a 2 inch deep box, which is why this one is called the 2 inch wide version. Measure the tube before you cut.
