OATEY 28618 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Oatey 28618 an air test plug or a water test plug?
The Oatey 28618 is a test plug used for air testing a DWV line. It is the Air-Loc conversion kit, which converts an existing Air-Loc plug setup to a 3 inch quick disconnect plug for pressure testing.
2) What does the quick disconnect on the Oatey Air-Loc 3 inch plug kit do for a plumber running tests?
The quick disconnect lets you pull the air line off the plug without unseating the plug in the pipe, so a single plumber can move a gauge and hose from opening to opening during a rough-in inspection instead of breaking down the whole assembly each time. The kit is sold as the Air-Loc conversion kit, Oatey model 28618.
3) How heavy is the Oatey 28618 Air-Loc plug kit for shipping or a service truck stock list?
The kit weighs 0.95 lb, light enough to carry several on a service van for multi-unit rough-in testing. Volume is listed at 0.159.
