Klein Tools Carbon Fiber Full Brim Hard Hat with Headlamp

It is a Class C, Type I hard hat meeting ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 (R2019) and CSA Z94.1-15 (R2020), with LT (low temperature) and HT (high temperature) ratings. Class C means non-conductive protection is NOT provided, so it is not for work where electrical shock hazard from head contact exists. If your site requires Class E or G, this is the wrong hat. Type I means it protects against impact to the top of the head only.

The ratcheting 6-point suspension covers hat sizes 6.5 through 8, so it fits the great majority of adult crews without ordering size-specific shells. Adjustment is a large knob ratchet you can turn one-handed with gloves on, and the neck pad pivots to clear a bandana knot or ponytail.

A Klein rechargeable 300 lumen magnetic headlamp, Cat. No. 56062, ships with the hat along with its charging cable. Output runs 300 lumens on boost, 215 on spot/high and 100 on flood/low, using LED emitters and a lithium-ion battery. Klein headlamps 56414 and 56049 are the other options if you want to add or replace one later.

1.263 lbs as supplied. The shell is a true carbon fiber multi-layered composite with a polyester lining, which is what buys the strength-to-weight figure. For crews complaining about neck fatigue on all-day overhead work, that weight plus the open-frame suspension is the main reason to spec this over a plain HDPE full brim.

Mounting points are Klein accessory mounts front and back plus universal side slots, so standard slotted accessories like earmuffs attach at the sides and Klein-specific gear (headlamps, visors) clips to the dual front/back mounts. The two accessory mounts also let you carry a lamp and a second accessory at once.

Yes, it has large adjustable vents that open and close, so airflow can be shut down in cold or wet conditions. Worth knowing: it is a Class C hat, and vented shells are non-conductive by definition, so venting does not change what the hat is approved for here. The suspension uses a flexible open frame that also helps air move over the scalp.

Wear parts are available individually: sweatband KHHSWTBND2, top pad KHHTOPPAD2, suspension HTSPN and chin strap KHHSTRP. For a fleet, the sweatband and top pad are the items that turn over, and both are machine washable with evaporative cooling (wet and shake) so they can be laundered rather than replaced every cycle.

Same Spartan carbon fiber full brim hat with the included headlamp; the difference is the color/pattern option. 60514 is the S pattern and 60512 is the T pattern. Specs, suspension and standards are identical between them, so mixing both across a crew does not change what the hats are rated for.

Overall it measures 12.7 in (32.3 cm) long, 10.9 in (27.7 cm) wide and 5.8 in (14.7 cm) high. That footprint matters if you are planning gang boxes or locker storage for a crew, since a full brim shell will not nest as tightly as a cap style.
