Fiberglass Fish Tape with Spiral Leader, 200-Foot
56014 - spec sheet
Features
- Raised finger grips help transfer 100-percent of the winding power from your hand and fingers
- The unique sloped handle optimizes the position of your hand for quick hand-over-hand rewinds and allows a more level payout of tape on the backswing while feeding conduit
- Non-conductive, fiberglass fish tape slides easily over existing wires and through multiple bends
- Replacement eyelets (Cat. No. 56116) and spiral leaders (Cat. No. 56120) available
- The 17-Inch case diameter means you can reel in 10-percent more tape in a single revolution vs. a 16-Inch (406 mm) case
- Repair kit available (Cat. No. 56115)
- Durable 7-Inch leader helps push through crowded conduit
- The lightweight and strong fiberglass tape resists harsh elements and is strength rated up to 500 pulling pounds
- Made in USA
- Permanent, laser etched 1-foot increments on the tape allow you to more accurately measure the depth of conduit runs and determine the amount of tape left to pay out
Warnings
- Do NOT bend a fiberglass fish tape to a radius smaller than 3'' (76 mm) or the tape may break.
- Wear approved eye protection when feeding, pulling or rewinding fish tape.
- Use a safe work position to avoid loss of balance when using fish tape.
- Do NOT pull a fiberglass fish tape with any type of mechanical fish-tape puller. A mechanical puller will severely damage the tape, and could lead to personal injury.
- Never remove screws while fish tape is coiled inside reel.
- Although fiberglass fish tape itself is non-metallic, its metallic tip and leader are conductive and could be grounded against conduit. Do NOT use on or near live electrical circuits.

Klein Tools 56010 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What lengths does the Klein fiberglass fish tape with spiral leader come in?
Two lengths: 100-foot (Cat. No. 56010) and 200-foot (Cat. No. 56014). Both use the same fiberglass tape with a 7-inch spiral leader and a 17-inch reel case.
2) Can I use a fiberglass fish tape near live circuits?
No. The fiberglass tape itself is non-conductive, but the metallic tip and leader are conductive and can ground against conduit, so Klein says not to use it on or near live electrical circuits. De-energize the run first.
3) How much pulling force will this fish tape take, and can I hook it to a mechanical puller?
The fiberglass tape is strength rated up to 500 pulling pounds, but it must be pulled by hand. Klein warns against using any type of mechanical fish-tape puller, which will severely damage the tape and can cause injury.
4) Will a fiberglass fish tape make it through multiple conduit bends?
Yes, it slides over existing wires and through multiple bends, and the 7-inch spiral leader helps push through crowded conduit. One hard limit: never bend the tape to a radius tighter than 3 inches (76 mm) or it can break, so very tight pull-point loops are out.
5) Fiberglass or steel fish tape for running wire in existing conduit?
Fiberglass is what you want when the conduit already has wire in it, or when you want a non-conductive tape body. This Klein tape is fiberglass, lightweight, resists harsh elements, and slides over existing conductors through multiple bends. Steel tape takes a mechanical puller and tighter bends; fiberglass does not, and this one is strictly hand-pulled with a 3-inch minimum bend radius.
6) Can I tell how far the tape has gone down a conduit run?
Yes. The tape carries permanent laser-etched 1-foot increments, so you can read the depth of the run as you feed and see how much tape is left to pay out.
7) If the leader or eyelet breaks, can I repair this fish tape instead of replacing it?
Yes. Klein sells replacement eyelets (Cat. No. 56116), replacement spiral leaders (Cat. No. 56120), and a repair kit (Cat. No. 56115). One caution: never remove the reel screws while the tape is still coiled inside.
8) Is the reel on this Klein fish tape easier to rewind than a standard 16-inch case?
The case is 17 inches in diameter, which reels in about 10 percent more tape per revolution than a 16-inch (406 mm) case. Raised finger grips transfer winding power from your hand, and the sloped handle positions your hand for hand-over-hand rewinds and a more level payout on the backswing.
9) Is this Klein fish tape made in the USA?
Yes, the fiberglass fish tape with spiral leader is made in the USA, which matters if you are buying against a domestic-preference or Buy American procurement requirement.
