Pick the model by measured cable OD. The L7981 covers .220 to .320 inch, L7982 covers .300 to .430 inch, L7984 covers .530 to .730 inch, L7985 covers .700 to .850 inch, L7986 covers .820 to 1.00 inch, and L7987 covers .960 to 1.25 inch. The ranges overlap slightly at the edges, so if your cable measures right on a break point either neighboring model will seat. Measure the actual jacket OD, not the nominal conductor size.
2) Is this a closed mesh or split mesh grip, and does that matter for install?
These are closed mesh, single weave. Closed mesh means the grip has to be slid on over the free end of the cable before it is terminated. If the cable is already landed on both ends, you cannot install a closed grip without a split-mesh or lace-up style. Plan the sequence before you pull.
3) Can I use this grip to pull cable through conduit?
