1) I ordered a Locknetics RS200 before and can't find it now. Is the RS210 the same strike?
The RS210 replaced the RS200 as of January 3, 2023, and Locknetics lists it as the direct replacement, fully compatible with existing RS200 installations. If your drawings or your parts list still call out RS200, order the RS210 and it drops into the same spot. Same surface mount rim strike, same 12/24 VDC field selectable operation, same field selectable fail-safe/fail-secure.
2) Will the Locknetics RS210 rim strike work with my exit device's pullman latch?
It's built for rim exit devices with a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch throw pullman latch bolt, and it ships with multiple spacers so you set it up for whichever throw your device has. If your rim device throws 5/8 inch, this is the wrong strike. A 5/8 inch latch wants something like the SDC 15 Series or the SDC 45F, both of which are built around a 5/8 inch latchbolt.
3) Can I put a surface mount electric rim strike on an aluminum storefront frame?
Yes. The Locknetics RS Series rim strike surface mounts to hollow metal, aluminum, and wood frames, so a glass front installer running a rim device on an aluminum jamb is exactly who it's for. Because it mounts on the face of the frame rather than into a cutout, you aren't cutting a mortise pocket into the tube. Slotted mounting holes give you adjustment room to line the keeper up with the latch.
4) Does the RS210 electric strike unlock on power loss or stay locked?
Both, and you choose in the field. Fail mode is selectable by a screw position change on non-fire-rated models, and it ships set fail-secure, so out of the box the door stays locked when power drops and the exit device still lets people out from the inside. Flip it to fail-safe if your egress or fire alarm scheme needs the strike to release when power is cut. Voltage is the same story: field selectable 12 or 24 VDC, so one part number covers either power supply.
5) I need my access control system to know when the door is actually latched. Which RS210 do I order?

7) I have a pair of doors with surface vertical rods. Will the Locknetics RS210 work?
No. This strike catches the pullman latch of a rim exit device, so it's for a single door with a rim device, or the active leaf of a pair with a mullion. Surface vertical rod devices latch at the head and the threshold, and there's no rim latch for this strike to receive. For SVR openings, the HES Folger Adam 310-4-2 is a complete electric strike pac built for surface vertical rods.
8) What is the closest equivalent to the Locknetics RS210 for a 3/4 inch pullman latchbolt rim exit device?
The RS210 is a surface mount rim strike that ships with spacers for 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch throw pullman latch bolts. The SDC 30-4 is the nearest peer built for the same job: a 3/4 inch pullman latchbolt rim mount electric strike in stainless steel construction. 9) The lock on my door is a cylindrical lockset, not an exit device. What electric strike do I use instead of the Locknetics RS210?

Pick by what's on the door. If the door has a rim exit device, the mortise strikes won't catch it.
11) Is the Locknetics RS210 heavy enough for a high traffic entrance?
It's rated medium duty and built for commercial use, with four attachment points to the frame rather than the usual two, which is what holds alignment on a frame that gets hit all day. On a main entry that takes constant abuse, or where a spec calls for Grade 1, step up: the Alarm Controls AES-100 is a Grade 1 heavy duty strike, and the Von Duprin 4211 and 6210 are both Grade 1 heavy duty.
12) Do I need a separate spike suppressor or diode across the Locknetics RS210?
No. A voltage spike suppressor is built into the strike, so you don't have to add a diode at the coil to protect the access control relay or the board driving it. Power it from a 12 or 24 VDC supply and set the strike to match; it is not battery operated and it is not an AC device. If your existing supply is AC, this isn't the strike for it.
