1) Does the Locknetics TB Series touch bar actually latch the door, or is it just a request-to-exit switch?
It doesn't latch anything. The TB Series touch bar is a request-to-exit device: pressing it throws two SPDT switches that signal the access control system to release the door. There is no latchbolt and no vertical rod. If you need the door mechanically secured, you still need a lock or a real exit device; the touch bar is the exit signal layer that usually sits alongside other access control hardware as a redundant release.
2) Can I use a Locknetics TB touch bar on a fire rated door?
No. The TB Series touch bar is specified for non-fire rated indoor doors. Put it on a fire rated opening and you need listed fire exit hardware instead, which this is not. Interior office, corridor, and access-controlled openings that carry no fire label are where it belongs.
3) What length Locknetics TB touch bar do I order for my door width?
Three lengths cover the range: TB-36 at 36 inches, TB-42 at 42 inches, and TB-48 at 48 inches.
