1) Will the Marks USA M195S trim fit my exit device, or is it only for Marks M9900 touchbars?
The M195S is built for the Marks USA M9900 Touchbar Series rim exit devices, and that is the pairing to order it for. Exit trim is not generic: the spindle, mounting hole pattern and chassis are cut to one manufacturer's device. If your opening has a Von Duprin, Sargent or Falcon rim device on it, this lever will not mount to it. For a Falcon 24/25 Series device with the same classroom function, the Falcon 510L is the trim built for it.
2) How does classroom function work on an exit device trim, and is it what I want on a classroom door?
On the M195S the latch pulls by lever from either side. A key from outside throws the deadbolt, a turnpiece does it from inside, and the deadbolt deadlocks the latch. So the door stays operable until someone deliberately secures it, and once secured it takes the key or the inside turnpiece to release. If you want a door that is always locked outside and only the key retracts the latch, that is storeroom function, not classroom, and the Design Hardware KIL Storeroom trim or the Pamex E9000 storeroom lever cover that instead.
