That's the whole point of the 6427. It takes a small format interchangeable core, so you drop in the same SFIC core keyway your doors already use and the padlock runs on the building key. Master Lock lists 16 SFIC core choices for it, and it also accepts standard SFIC OEM cores, so if your locksmith already stocks cores for your system you can use those. Rekeyable 6-pin and 7-pin core options are available, and the lock can be bought with or without a core installed.
2) Which shackle length should I order on the 6427 padlock for a hasp versus a chain?
Three shackle lengths are offered: 1-1/8 inch, 1-7/8 inch and 2-1/2 inch. The 1-1/8 inch short shackle leaves the least gap for bolt cutters and is the one to use on a tight gate hasp or a cabinet. Go to 1-7/8 inch when the hasp staple is thick or the shackle has to clear a flange, and 2-1/2 inch when you are passing through chain links, a cable eye, or stacked hasp plates. Clearance between the legs is 7/8 inch on all of them, so whatever it goes through has to fit inside that width.
3) Is the Master Lock 6427 padlock any good for outdoor gates in winter?
