1) Is this end bell approved for use in Canada as well as the US?
Yes. Kraloy's molded end bell line is listed to UL 651 and CSA C22.2 No. 85, and is NAFTA qualified, so it satisfies both US and Canadian inspection on PVC duct terminations.
2) Can PVC end bells be cast directly into concrete for a duct bank or manhole wall?
That is the normal use. The end bell is molded from impact resistant PVC and is set at the face of the concrete so the flared mouth is exposed inside the pull box, manhole, or vault. Listed applications for the line include parking garages, subways, bridges and tunnels, utilities, and street and highway lighting, all of which are encased duct work.
3) Will a PVC end bell hold up in a wastewater plant or a car wash where metal fittings corrode?
PVC does not corrode, which is why this end bell is specified for water and sewage treatment plants, car washes, marinas, fish plants, food processing, pulp and paper, steel mills, and mines. In those environments it is the usual replacement for a metal bell end that has rusted at the concrete face.
