1) Can the Milbank U2693-XL meter socket be used on a 208Y/120V three-phase service?
No. The U2693-XL is a single-phase, 4-jaw socket rated 300 volts AC at 60 hertz. Three-phase metering needs a 7-jaw socket. Use this one only for single-phase 120/240V residential and light commercial services.
2) Is the 100 amp rating on this 3-position Milbank socket per meter or for the whole stack?
Each of the three meter positions is rated 100 continuous amperes. It is a 3-position vertical socket, so you are metering three separate 100A single-phase services in one enclosure. There is no main breaker in it, so overcurrent protection has to come from ahead of or behind the socket.
3) What wire sizes will land in the Milbank U2693-XL lay-in terminals?
Line side takes 6 AWG up through 350 kcmil, and the load side takes 6 AWG through 2/0 AWG. Terminals are lay-in type, so conductors drop in rather than threading through a hole, which makes a three-position stack a lot faster to wire. There is also a ground lug for the equipment ground.
