It is a direct bury pedestal, so the lower section of the post goes into the excavation and gets backfilled. No separate concrete pad or mounting base is part of the unit. Overall the unit is 70 inches high by 9.438 inches long by 8 inches wide, and burial depth consumes part of that 70 inches, so plan your hole depth and trench so the meter and receptacles finish at a workable height. Service conductors come in from underground through the pedestal.
2) Will this meter socket work for my utility, or do they require a bypass?
The U5952-O is a 4 terminal ring-type socket with no bypass provision. Many utilities require a lever or horn bypass on RV park and campground services so the meter can be pulled under load. If your utility's spec calls for bypass, this unit will not pass inspection and you need a bypass model instead. The ring-type 4 jaw configuration itself is the standard single phase 240V residential-style socket.
3) Is this Milbank pedestal rated for outdoor use in an RV park?
