1) What do the two ends of the Nibco 807-3 DWV elbow connect to?
One end is a solder cup that takes copper DWV tube, and the other is a female NPT thread. That C x F (NPT) arrangement is what lets you turn a soldered copper drain line into a threaded connection at the same time you change direction 90 degrees.
