1) Will a Nibco 904-7 trap adapter connect a threaded drain stub to a slip joint tailpiece?
That's exactly what the 904-7 does. It carries a male NPT thread on one end and a slip joint connection on the other, so it adapts a threaded DWV connection over to slip joint tubing. The threaded end screws into the female NPT side of your drain, and the slip joint end takes a nut and washer over the tailpiece or trap arm.

5) Is the Nibco 904-7 trap adapter copper or brass?
Copper. It's a wrot copper DWV fitting in ASTM B75 alloy C12200, with material and workmanship per ASME B16.29. Nibco also lists it as dezincification resistant, which matters on the slip joint side where the fitting sits wet at a threaded connection.
6) Can I use a copper trap adapter on a commercial building drain, or is it residential only?
