1) What wire sizes does the Sta-Kon B71 ring terminal accept?
The B71 is sized for 18 to 14 AWG stranded copper wire. If your conductor is 12 AWG or larger, this barrel won't crimp down on it correctly and you need a different terminal size.
2) Is the B71 ring terminal insulated, and does that matter for my application?
It's a bare, non-insulated copper terminal with no nylon or vinyl sleeve. That means you supply the insulation yourself, usually heat shrink or tape over the crimped barrel, if the lug sits where it could contact an adjacent conductor or a grounded surface. Where the terminal lands in an enclosed box or on an isolated stud, bare is fine and lets you see the crimp.
3) Ring terminal or fork terminal for a screw-down terminal block?
A ring like the B71 has to come off the stud entirely to remove the wire, but it cannot vibrate loose or slip out sideways from under a loosened screw. Use the ring where vibration or a safety circuit is involved, such as motor connections and grounding. A fork or spade slides out from under a partly loosened screw and is faster for service work on control panels where terminations get changed often.
4) Is the B71 ring terminal made of copper, and can I use it for a grounding connection?
The body is copper, the standard conductor material for a bonding or equipment ground termination to a copper conductor. Copper-to-copper avoids the dissimilar-metal issue you get putting an aluminum lug on copper wire.
