Yes. This is an indoor/outdoor weather resistant keypad, surface mounted, with a self contained brushed metal housing and a vandal resistant design, so it is built to sit exposed on an exterior door, gate or parking entry rather than needing a sheltered vestibule location.
2) How many users or PIN codes can the Nortek Control weather resistant keypad hold?
The keypad stores 120 users. That covers a small to mid size building, a single tenant office suite, a gate for a multi family property, or a contractor yard where each person carries their own code. If you need to manage more than 120 distinct credentials on one door, this is the wrong capacity and you want a larger controller.
3) Does this Nortek keypad read prox cards or fobs, or is it code entry only?
Code entry only. It is a keypad only reader, with no card or fob reader built in, so every user gets a PIN. If your tenants or crew are already carrying prox credentials you would need a keypad plus reader unit instead of this one.
4) Can one Nortek 120-user keypad control more than one door or device?
It has 4 onboard programmable timed relays. That lets a single unit drive more than one output from the same keypad, for example a maglock and a gate operator, or a door strike plus an auxiliary function, with the timing set per relay rather than needing a separate controller for each.
5) Is the Nortek Control keypad self contained, or does it need a separate control board inside the building?
Self contained. The electronics live in the brushed metal housing at the door, so there is no separate controller to mount on the secure side. That matters on gates and standalone exterior openings where there is nowhere protected to put a panel.
