The JWNCF5 is a 10-32 wing nut, so it threads onto a #10 machine screw or threaded rod at 32 threads per inch. That is the standard fine thread for #10 fasteners, so it will run onto 10-32 all-thread, fixture studs, and machine screws, but not onto a 10-24 coarse screw. Threads are made to ANSI/ASME B18.17.

This one is cold forged steel rather than stamped sheet. If you only need light finger tension on a cover or a temporary hold, a stamped wing nut is the lighter-duty alternative.
